kellycloseKelly Close joined the field of water resources in 1992 with Hydrosphere Resource Consultants in Boulder, CO.  While there she was fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects related to water planning, field data collection, water rights litigation, modeling, and analysis for all sorts of clients, including farmers, cities and counties, utilities, non-profits, environmental advocacy groups, watersheds and State agencies.  Throughout this work she found her greatest strengths to lie in the application of computer technologies to meet the technical challenges unique to this field.  In 2007 she moved to Leonard Rice Engineers and began to focus more on modeling and data management related to surface and groundwater, quantity and quality.  She is able to combine her technology expertise with her diverse background to provide relevant data management and integration solutions to her clients.  Kelly has a degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado with a focus on environmental planning and applied mathematics.  She is Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee to the Colorado Water Quality Monitoring Council (CWQMC) and a member of the Front Range Users of Geospatial Open source (FRUGOS).  Kelly is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Colorado.
