Stephanie Scott

2015 Water Leaders Alumni

Stephanie Scott is an emerging water leader in Colorado, however her passion for water and empowering people was not her original career path. Stephanie began her career working with wildlife in many capacities. She has worked to rehabilitate wildlife, had a short stint as a zoo keeper, and spent most of her college career traveling the world to study wildlife management and zoology. Shortly into this wild career path for her she discovered that working directly with animals was not her calling. She began to explore how to get people more connected to their natural resources, which led her to her new found passion in water! Stephanie has been working on the non-profit side of water management since 2013 at Trout Unlimited and has jumped into the many different perspectives of water in Colorado as the Colorado Foundation for Water Education's Leadership and Education Programs Manager. She is a graduate of the highly esteemed Water Leaders program ran by CFWE, was engaged deeply on creating Colorado‚Äôs Water Plan, and has worked with municipalities, agriculture and other various stakeholders on water projects in the past. She has extensive work experience doing outreach, education, and building leaders. Stephanie brings a strong passion for building informed individuals and communities across Colorado. Stephanie manages all of CFWE's Leadership (Water Leaders, Water Fluency) and Education (Water Educator Network, Public Tours) Programs and is always available to share her ever-growing passion for water!!  She lives in Thornton with her husband Tyler, their Son Talon, and 95 pound lap dog Roscoe.
