Ryan Christianson

2016 Water Leaders Class

christiansonRyan Christianson is the chief of the Water Management Group of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Western Colorado Area Office. He received his B.S. in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines,  just as he was beginning his sixteen year career with Reclamation in 1998. After spending 10 years working as a geologist/civil engineer at Reclamation’s Technical Service Center and Four Corners Construction Offices, he hung up the rock pick and began working on water-related issues for the Western Colorado Area Office. Since this transition, his attention has been focused on project operations, primarily the Navajo and Aspinall Units of the Colorado River Storage Project; negotiating a variety of water service and hydropower-related contracts; and serving as the Water Conservation Coordinator. He recently relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife and two kids.
