Sean Chambers

2013 Water Leaders Alum

S.Chambers RMS-AWWA 2013Sean Chambers grew up in Woodland Park, CO at the foot of Pikes Peak, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resource Economics from the Colorado State University College of Agriculture.  While at University, Sean studied abroad at Lincoln University near Christchurch, New Zealand, focusing on the subjects of natural resources and macroeconomics.

Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Sean traveled in Western Europe as a volunteer worker on organic farms and teaching English, spending most of a year in Cataluña Spain.  Sean went to work in the irrigated agriculture and municipal water supply industry in 2002 with Pikes Peak Water Company and later became a certified water and wastewater operator and project manager with the Sunset Metropolitan District.  Sean has been the General Manager of the Cherokee Metropolitan District since 2010, where Mr. Chambers worked to develop new revenues, pay down long-term debt, develop water supply opportunities, establish long-range planning and asset management, and drive leadership development, and organizational change.  Sean is the current President of the Pikes Peak Regional Water Authority, Chairperson for the El Paso County Groundwater Quality Study, and working with various water providers on a regional study of infrastructure and supply sharing similar to Southmetro’s WISE.

Sean and his wife Rachel live in Colorado Springs with their two sons.  He enjoys spending time with his family, enjoys new professional challenges, and spends his free time outdoors with family and friends.
