Water Leaders Program

Colorado Water Leaders Program

The Water Leaders program is recognized as the premier professional development course for the water community in Colorado. 2017 will mark the 10th graduating class of Water Leaders, and CFWE could not be more proud of program's evolution. Program managers have worked hard year after year to adapt and evolve the course to address current water issues by using the most advanced leadership development tools and trainings available.

The goal of the Water Leaders program is to positively impact the Colorado water profession by developing a pipeline of water leaders across diverse fields with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex world of Colorado water.

It's difficult to describe the full depth of the Water Leaders Program without participating in it because Water Leaders is not your average leadership or professional development course.

In partnership with Cheryl Benedict of MORF Consulting, the Water Leaders program was uniquely developed with water professionals in mind. While there are discussions throughout the course about navigating water in Colorado, the focus of the program truly is individual growth. Participants receive extensive training in skills related to navigating conflict and diversity, leading self and others, and effective management and problem-solving tactics. Water Leader graduates walk away with better understanding of their strengths and how to utilize them, how to address their challenges, skills to enhance staff and/or team, and a network of peers to further their career growth.
