Public Engagement with Colorado's Water Plan

It's been just over three months since Coloradans got a first look at the state's water plan. The draft that was submitted to Gov. John Hickenlooper came after more than 800 public meetings held across the state. But despite an extensive education and outreach campaign, how involved is the general public in planning Colorado's water future? 

Kate McIntire, Outreach, Education and Public Engagement with the Colorado Water Board says that all comments received through May 1, 2015 will be considered in the second draft of Colorado’s Water Plan.

Senator Ellen Roberts, a Republican from Durango, co­sponsored legislation that required even more public involvement with the Colorado Water Plan.

Theresa Conley, a water advocate with Conservation Colorado says all voices need to be heard when it comes to planning Colorado’s water future.
